it’s joaquin’s birthday, caranthir gets his ears clipped, a drow bursts through our window
havi: jojo is his own person, he can do whatever he wants
havi: if he wants to go get KILLED, then he can go get KILLED
jojo: I'M NOT GONNA GO GET KILLED
joaquin: you're gonna go get killed
the group wakes. dahlia overhears joaquin grumbling about his birthday.
dahlia: do you want anything for your birthday? i'll steal you something!
joaquin: no.
dahlia: can i tell anyone?
joaquin: no.
dahlia: why not?
joaquin: no one will care.
we head to new chasm. jojo wants to stop and talk to lia, but caranthir hates her because she was the one who hired someone to cut down the trees.
joaquin: she had a cult ring.
jojo: yeah but she's my friend!
joaquin: ... tanum has a cult ring.
jojo: well tanum's a piece of shit!
havi: OKAY
they argue for like 45 minutes about where to go next.
havi: jojo is his own person, he can do whatever he wants

joaquin: you're gonna go get killed
jojo and caranthir decide to head to the small town lia might be at. they find a dwarf wearing armor and holding a large hammer, as well as a staff that looks similar to deeri’s staff. the rest of the party is a ways behind, but can see what’s going on.
caranthir can see lia in the distance. she skirts around so the dwarf is between them. jojo is confused. jojo recognizes this as a Bad Situation.
the dwarf uses the staff on jojo and jojo finds himself frozen. caranthir yells, and the dwarf notices caranthir and immobilizes him too. he approaches caranthir and clips his ears. it is revealed that when elves ears are clipped, they lose all their racial abilities.
havi, joaquin, ireth, and dahlia arrive. jojo sees lia. we notice caranthir’s hair is turning gray.
the rest of the group thinks lia is a bad person. jojo insists she’s fine. philip is here, and we tell him what happened to caranthir. he doesn’t know how to fix it. we go back to new chasm, but are worried how to get back in because just a few days ago we were a bit of a public nuisance.
we’re approached by a guard at the gate and asked what our business is. philip says we’re here to visit the mage’s college.
tanum’s really tired. he’s been very quiet.
the group rents out a big room at the inn. we notice caranthir’s hair has gotten lighter and his skin has gotten darker.
a drow breaks in through our window.
