Talmage can\u2019t sleep. He can\u2019t sleep and he\u2019s bored and he can\u2019t stop thinking about *everything*.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The room is dark. Talmage fidgets, adjusting his position a few times. He stares up at the ceiling.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cSo I was talking to Luci earlier.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ideally, Bishop would have been asleep by now. Ideally he would have been asleep hours ago, actually.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He\u2019d spent a little extra time getting comfortable now that he could put his wings away, but now just wished he went to his default comfortable position and went to sleep. But now he was still awake, and it would be rude to ignore talmage. After all maybe this was important? Maybe Talmage was having feelings or something and needed to talk them out.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop didn\u2019t move or open his eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cuh huh?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there was this dude\u2014 this big dude? A prince? Who apparently is also a\u2014 one\u2019a you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He lets that hang before quickly adding, \u201c*A Solis*, or whatever.\u201d His tail thumps against the side of the bed.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c Theodore? \u201c Bishop sounds a little more awake. He shifted and rolled over to peek an eye open at Talmage.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe younger Calloway mentioned him…why, was something wrong? Is Luci okay? None of the Solis things should effect him…\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cOh, no, it\u2019s fine, he\u2019s fine,\u201d Talmage insists, still looking at the ceiling.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just weird … seeing him. Like a mini-you. Though maybe you\u2019re the same size, I couldn\u2019t really tell.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop relaxes a little once he realizes he had tensed up.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201coh. So he wasn\u2019t like…doing anything, it was. you just saw him??\u201d there\u2019s a pause<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWait you saw him?? How did you see him??\u201d Bishop sits up a little<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cAh.\u201d *Right*. \u201cIt\u2019s\u2014 he\u2019s not like, *here*, I have\u2014 uh.\u201d He pauses, not sure if explaining that he got the mirror as a *gift* would make him feel more or less stupid about the whole thing.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI made something so I can talk with them,\u201d he mumbles quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cOh, okay. That is really cool, Talmage. That\u2019s impressive to make something for so far away. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishops still trying to figure out where this was going, but yeah, sure. Talmage made some rings to communicate with Luci, figuring out probably some…illusion magic? linked with that? Probably?? That doesn\u2019t seem that far off.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cSo…\u201d Bishop is fully sitting up on the bed now, moving his tail lazily back and forth across the bed. \u201c If Theodore wasn\u2019t doing something…bad, was he doing something….good?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The undeserved praise sits weird in his chest.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cHe wasn\u2019t doing anything\u2014 *anything*, really, I don\u2019t know. He was just there. I think he\u2019s training Luci or something.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cOh…o..kay. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop sits there and looks at Talmage. He\u2019s realizing that maybe Talmage was just. Talking. And this wasn\u2019t some urgent anything, so he starts to lay back down. It\u2019s 2am and they just got done fighting frogs.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c It\u2019s good to know somewhere up north Solis and Calloway can be friends. I\u2019m sure this Theodore is strong, so Luci training with him will probably help him. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, yeah … probably,\u201d Talmage agrees absently.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop nods a little bit, and after a good few seconds of silence settles back down in the bed to go to sleep. 2am isn\u2019t a great bedtime but, they\u2019ve stayed up later during missions. This was fine. It\u2019s fine. He starts to doze back off.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cSo why didn\u2019t you bring Kairos along?\u201d Talmage asks just as Bishop begins falling asleep.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Talmage can see Bishop give a big sigh, as he was almost asleep. His tail flicks back and forth a little irritated as he rolls over onto his back.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c Because we are currently at a Vale Hotspot where there are people being Murdered, and I just cost Kairos all of his magic. It would have been.. It wouldn\u2019t have been safe.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c Bishop is watching Talmage again, trying to see if he can gauge if thats enough of an answer to let him go to sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Talmage turns to look back at Bishop\u2019s glowing eyes. They\u2018re creepy in the dark, but not so much at such a close distance. \u201cBuuut it\u2019s not because you guys are, like …\u201d He gestures vaguely.<\/span><\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop stares at him for a second.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c Are what?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cLike … fighting? Or whatever?\u201d He\u2019s trying to look as innocent as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop pinches the bridge of his nose, laying back so he\u2019s facing the ceiling again.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not…I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s….we\u2019re . It\u2019s complicated. We are not fighting, there is just a lot of things that have happened to everyone recently, and everyone is on edge. Him and I are still at zero. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Talmage purses his lips.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cZero, like … so you … aren\u2019t … like … fucking? Right?\u201d He squints at Bishop, not sure if that\u2019s the right word; but what other word could there possibly be??<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He goes from pinching the bridge of his nose to covering his face with his hand. It\u2019s hard to tell if it\u2019s from annoyance of embarrassment, but it\u2019s probably both. It\u2019s absolutely both.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cNo, Talmage. We aren\u2019t. I think you of anyone would be aware of that, considering, \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just curious if you\u2019re, like, on the *market* or not,\u201d Talmage says, a little defensive. And then he squints again.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWait, what does *that* mean.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop sighs again and pushes himself up onto his elbows. \u201c I was trying to…when you told Gwynfor I was his god. That whole situation. I…You certainly did not help the situation. \u201c He sits the rest of the way. \u201cAlso, if you\u2019re trying to hook up with someone I would recommend probably not leading with their..\u201d Bishop pauses because he realizes he doesn\u2019t know what they…were? are? \u201c…ex? at 2am. \u201c \u201cBesides, aren\u2019t you and Luci…Something?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Talmage purses his lips further as the puzzle pieces start to slot together. Hm, what is this feeling. Guilt? Luckily, the Luci comment brings him back to his senses.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2014 works *sometimes* okay, *jeez*,\u201d he snaps, defending his strategy. \u201cI just wanted to make sure I wasn\u2019t stepping on any toes – sorry for being *courteous.*\u201d He crosses his arms in bed before rolling onto his side, away from Bishop.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd no, we\u2019re not. He\u2019s not … he doesn\u2019t like guys. It\u2019s not important.\u201d Talmage still doesn\u2019t *believe* that, but he\u2019s not about to admit to Bishop that Luci just Isn\u2019t That Into Him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bishop blinks a couple times,<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c…But he….didn\u2019t he, at that party… He\u2019s not into guys? He deepthroats swords. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Talmage covers his ears and groans angrily.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, I *fucking* know he does, okay? He\u2014 told me after\u2014 I don\u2019t know, he\u2019s not\u2014 interested.\u201d *In me.* \u201cIn that.\u201d *Like that.* \u201cApparently.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God, it all sounds *really* pathetic when said out-loud, huh.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Should have just let Bishop sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop rubs his forehead. Oh. He scoots a little to lead back against the headboard and tentatively pats Talmages shoulder. \u201cI\u2019m sure that…He. Hasn\u2019t had a lot of time to. Figure himself out? At the very worst, you guys will be real good friends\u201d Bishop hesitates and cringes a little internally. If someone gave him that to comfort him it. That\u2019s not the best. \u201c He\u2019s off doing a lot of learning about himself right now. I\u2019m sure you two can. Talk it out \u2014 I mean you gave him. a ring?? He\u2019s gotta know, right\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

God he was getting *pity shoulder pats* when all he wanted was some dick. *Metaphor for his fucking life.*<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThe ring wasn\u2019t supposed to be\u2014 it wasn\u2019t *my* idea, also it was sort of *funny*, I don\u2019t\u2014 IT WAS SO WE COULD TALK, OKAY\u2014 god, he like *wears* it too, *aughHHHH*\u2014\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

Talmage aggressively ruffles his own hair and kicks around on the bed before going limp.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cHe told me he was straight and then blew me. Who does that. *Who does that*.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

—<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c Not straight boys. No straight boy does that, in that order. Maybe the other way around?? But not…no. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

He pats a couple more times before reaching over to straighten the cover out, since now Talmage has kicked it out everywhere. God, maybe Kairos wasn\u2019t too far off with that Promise Ring comment.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201c I would try not to. stress about it too much while he is training with the other Calloways. And if you need to talk about boy problems, I\u2019m all ears. I feel like that might make you feel better than hookups. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Talmage groans again, rolls over, and crams his face into his pillow. The blanket comes with him.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cThey can\u2019t make things *worse*,\u201d he mutters into the cushion.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Bishop sighed. Well, Talmage can go ahead and think that. \u201cOkay, well, If you say so. \u201c He has to scoot over a little now that Talmage has rolled over with the blanket.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c Goodnight. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

(they DO end up cuddling tho)<\/span><\/p>\n
